Overview

MUMIE

MUMIE is a Learning Management System for Mathematics, developed and maintained by
integral-learning GmbH.
It can be used stand-alone or as part of a course in a generic LMS like Moodle, ILIAS, or StudIP, and
supports mathematical learning and teaching at the university level.

Highlights

One problem, many variants.

Randomized variables mean every student gets an individually different version of the same
problem - reducing copying and giving each student their own, still automatically gradable,
exercise.

Instant, automatic correction.

Numbers, algebra, matrices, text, piecewise functions, truth tables, drag-and-drop, and
randomized multiple choice - all corrected the moment a student submits, with immediate,
detailed feedback and no waiting for a human grader.

Real code, really graded.

Students can write actual Python code directly in the browser, which is executed and
automatically graded server-side - not just simulated.

Interactive visualizations.

Build interactive 2D and 3D graphics - points, vectors, curves, surfaces, vector fields - with a
simple, unified syntax, embed them directly in questions and explanations, and connect them to
problem grading. Both JSXGraph and CindyJS are supported, including fully custom CindyJS
constructions.

Works with your existing LMS.

Plug into Moodle, ILIAS, or StudIP with single sign-on and automatic grade-book sync - content
stays centrally maintained and always up to date.

Adaptive question sequences.

Show a different follow-up question depending on how a student answered the previous one, instead
of a fixed, linear sequence of questions.

Turn a problem set into a game.

Add levels, time limits, and unlock thresholds to a set of problems, with an anonymous highscore
list - built from the same problems you already have.

A growing, reusable problem pool.

Bookmark problems, assemble them into worksheets, and adapt existing pool problems to your own
course with the Personal Pool Assistant.

Our authoring tool.

Content is written in a simplified, LaTeX-like syntax in a web-based editor built for
collaborative authoring, and assembled from granular building blocks into lectures, worksheets,
and full courses.
